Multiple Teams · Boys BB: Four In a Row!

The Lutheran High Boys Basketball Team continue to showcase team basketball.  Once again, eleven players found their way into the scoring column, with nine of them scoring more than five points en route to the 82-71 victory over the Castle Hills First Baptist Eagles.

The Eagles were close to the Mustangs in the first quarter before the defense clamped down and limited Castle Hills to just 8 points in the second quarter allowing Lutheran to extend a 3 point lead to 17 at halftime.   The Eagles outscored the Mustangs by 7 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough as the Mustangs cruised to the win.

Isaiah Sefton had a team high 15 points and 9 rebounds.  Phillip Williams added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Collin Hunick chipped in with 12 points and 4 assists. Lutheran also got point contributions from Andrew Entzenberger (9), Carl Wegmann (8), Daniel Hernandez (8), and Sam Schimke (6).

Lutheran (11-16, 4-1) will host CASA (19-1, 4-0) on Tuesday, January 27 in a 2A-7 District showdown.  First place will be on the line at The Stable Center in what figures to be one of the top high school match-ups of the week.  Tip off is scheduled for 7:30.
