Sophomore Corey Friesenhahn was the lone Mustang competing at the TAPPS State Track Championships held this past weekend in Waco, Texas, at the home of Baylor University.
Friesenhahn was a State Qualifier in two different events for the State Meet, including the high jump and the long jump.
In the long jump, Friesenhahn jumped a personal best 19’5″ and to earn a 4th place finish.
Friesenhahn jumped 5’4″ to earn a 6th place finish in the high jump.
“The atmosphere at the stadium was great and I hope I can go back next year with some of the other track members joining me,” said Friesenhahn.
Overall, two top six finishes for the sophomore who already has his sights for bigger and better things in 2016.
“My goals for next year are to pass my experience down to others, make it back to state, greatly surpass my personal bests, and medal at state,” Friesenhahn stated.
