Freshman runner Noah Tostenson had quite the eventful track and field season for the Lutheran High Mustangs. As the lone state qualifier, Tostenson made sure the Mustangs showed up in the scoring column at the 2016 2A State Track and Field Championships held at Baylor University this past weekend.
Tostenson who qualified in the 800 meter race, was the only freshman in the event. Tostenson was just a second off his personal best time for the event and still managed to place in the Top 8 and score some points for the Mustangs.
Tostenson finished with a time of 2:10:63 and just three seconds out of 4th place and finished in 7th place overall.
Tostenson finished with a personal best time of 2:09:59 in the Regional Meet the week prior.
“It’s hard for 800 runners to be consistent week and week out. Noah did a great job from district to regional to state in being consistent, which is impressive for a freshman to do that,” said Head Coach Levi Wiseman. “I am very proud of his effort and look forward to seeing him develop in the years to come.”
