The Lutheran High Mustangs kicked off district play this week with a pair of home games. The Lady Mustangs split the week but hope the momentum from their last match will springboard them into bigger weeks ahead.
On Tuesday, Lutheran hosted Sacred Heart Hallettsville. The Indians prevailed in four games winning the match 25-11, 25-22, 13-25, 25-18. Domonique Richardson led the attack for the Lady Mustangs with 7 kills and 12 digs, while Kim Moore added 12 assists and a team high 3 aces.
Thursday, Lutheran bounced back on Thursday to get the 3-1 victory over Keystone. The Lady Mustangs defeated the Cobras 25-17, 17-25, 25-16, 25-23 to even their district record at 1-1.
Lutheran was led again by Richardson who notched another double double on the year with 10 kills and 21 digs. Haley Day added 8 kills and 18 digs while Moore had a team high 17 assists. Kylan Perry added 13 more. Lillie Hall chipped in with 7 kills.
Lutheran (15-17, 1-1) will hit the road next week as they travel to Kerrville to take on Our Lady of the Hills (20-4, 2-0). Game time is slated for 6 PM.
