The Lutheran High volleyball team completed another week in the schedule this past week and positioned itself right in the thick of the district standings. The Lady Mustangs are one of three teams in position to nab the second place standing as the final week of district play approaches next week. The Lady Mustangs split their two games this week setting a huge final week of the regular season.
On Tuesday, the Mustangs knocked off Keystone in four sets, 25-14, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21. Lutheran swept the season series from the Cobras.
For Lutheran it was a team effort pulling out the win. Freshman Haley Day recorded a double double with 11 kills and 15 digs, while sophomore Kylan Perry also notched a double double with 14 assists and 13 digs. Rachel Arnold added 8 kills while Kim Moore chipped in with 14 assists, 6 kills, and 4 aces. Lilly Hall and Lila Williams combined for 7 kills and 15 digs.
Thursday the Lady Mustangs found themselves on the opposite end of the scoreboard as they hosted Our Lady of the Hills. The Mustangs knocked off the Hawks earlier in the season but OLH got their revenge on Thursday with the sweep.
Lutheran kicks off the final week of the regular season this week with a home game against St. Gerard on Tuesday. This will also be senior night. They will finish the regular season on Thursday as they take on the Christian School of Castle Hills. Both games are scheduled for a 6 PM first serve.
