The Lutheran High Mustang soccer team couldn’t over come a quick start by Austin Waldorf in Tuesday district action falling 4-3.
Waldorf got two quick goals in the first twenty minutes and added a penalty kick goal right before halftime to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Late in the second half, the Mustangs got things rolling with senior Reese Smith scoring his first career goal. A goal by Alexandro Daovan five minutes later cut the lead to 3-2.
Waldorf answered with a goal in the 74th minute. A late goal on a free kick by Ethan Maller in the 77th was as close as the Mustangs would get losing 4-3.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-2 on the season, while Waldorf improved to 2-1. Lutheran will travel to Austin to take on district leading Concordia (3-0) on Friday. Game time at 5:30.
